Senior Housing Statistics: 2010
* The estimated number of people is based on a total generated by the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission’s population estimates and the assumption that seniors will be making housing choices in
2040 in the same proportions as they were in 2010. Thus, the percent of total calculations for 2040 would be the same as they are for 2010. It is likely, however, that housing options will shift over the next 30
years as new ideas, trends, and technologies take hold. Nursing home unit totals are from the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Assisted living unit totals are from the Pennsylvania Department of Aging.
Many new senior housing developments have been built
in the last decade to accommodate the county’s growing
55+ population.
